2014 was a great year of growth in the A.B.C. Technical Arts Ministry. Not only did we see the addition of our HD camera system upgrade and installation but we were able to add a very capable recording studio. Revolving around a Pro Tools 11 D.A.W. workstation with 24 I/O through two Universal Audio Apollo's and an RME OctoMic 8.
A very nice Midas Venice console with super musical pre-amps and eq's allow us to grab and solid analog signal before it goes digital "in the box". Not only do the UA Apollos act as digital I/O but also as a hardware accelerator which allows the use of dynamic plugins BEFORE the audio signal gets recorded. So we have a full dynamic signal path on the front end of the Pro Tools rig allowing complete signal manipulation before recording.
We just recently used the room to complete a live Anastasia Worship CD. Through active Whirlwind splitters we are able to capture 24 discrete audio inputs directly off the CLC stage.
This creates a very versatile set up allowing both high quality live recording and studio recording in the same space without sacrificing quality.
